In order to understand the Chinese consumers' perceptions, attitudes and willingness to purchase artificial foods, the Beijing Food Safety Policy and Strategic Research Base artificial food consumer survey team went to Qingdao, Tai'an and Beijing in Shandong Province in mid-to-late July. The event was organized by the Beijing Food Safety Policy and Strategic Research Base. Professor Bai Junfei, the chief expert of the base, personally led the team to investigate at the grassroots level.

Arrived in Qingdao

On July 13, the delegation of the research team arrived in Qingdao to settle down and then directly conducted research. The research team is divided into three groups, which are located in large supermarkets and farmers' markets in Shinan District, Shibei District and Lisong District of Qingdao, and conduct random research on consumers in cities aged 18 and over.

Due to the hot weather and the large amount of questionnaires, the survey did not work as expected. Especially in the face of the slow progress of the questionnaire survey for middle-aged and older people, it takes 30-40 minutes or more to complete a face-to-face questionnaire.

In response to these situations, the investigation team met to sum up experience and adjust the strategy in a timely manner. In the next few days of investigation, the team members set off early, coupled with accumulated experience, the investigation speed quickly set a new record and successfully completed the rated task.

Subsequently, the research team went to Tai'an City and Beijing to conduct investigations in succession. The research work lasted for two weeks and the total questionnaire was completed around 1,100. So far, the 2019 Beijing Food Safety Policy and Strategic Research Base artificial food consumer survey mission was successfully completed!
